A technical tour at Lebedinsky Mining and Processing Plant JSC (Gubkin) will be organized during the XIV International Congress on Applied Mineralogy (ICAM2019). Lebedinsky Plant is the largest enterprise in Russia and the CIS for the extraction and enrichment of iron ore, the production of high-quality iron ore raw materials and metallized products, the only producer of hot briquetted iron (HBI) in Russia and the CIS. The Lebedinsky Plant is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as an enterprise with the world's largest non-combustible mine.
The production line of Lebedinsky Plant includes iron ore concentrate, non-fluxed and fluxed pellets, as well as the most promising type of metallurgical raw materials, which is resistant to market changes, HBI.
Technical tour is included in the registration fee.
Field trip route: Institute of Geology, KarRC RAS (Petrozavodsk) - “Tulmozerye Ore Park” (history of hematite ore mining in Karelia late XIX - early XX century) - Ruskeala Mountain Park (marble mines from the late XVIII century) in Russia, then on the territory of Finland, the Outokumpu Mining Museum (history of the development of the copper-nickel deposit) - a stone museum and a visit to the talc stone deposit in Nunnulahti - the Koli national park - the museum of the mining town Myhkö.
