Dear colleagues!
The journal was founded by Academician N. P. Yushkin in 1995. It is published continuously 12 times per year in print and electronic form. Until 2020, it was entitled Vestnik of the Institute of Geology of the Komi Science Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Vestnik of Geosciences publishes problematic scientific papers (including reviews) and short reports on main areas of geosciences, and also papers on scientific heritage (rubrics: history of geology and museum heritage), information on significant events in geological life (conferences, field excursions, etc.).
The journal is peer-reviewed and is included in the List of Higher Attestation Commission, RSCI system, GeoRef database (as Open-Access Journals), is at the 35th place among Russian geological scientific journals according to the indicators of the scientific Elibrary (Science Index). The five-year impact factor according to RSCI for 2019 is 0.417. Each scientific article is assigned DOI number.
The editorial board of the journal includes leading experts from Russia and the world. The language of publications is Russian, English, each article has abstract in both languages. The journal supports copyrights in accordance with the provisions of GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).
The fee for publication in the journal, reviewing and editing of papers from the authors is not charged. The online manuscript submission system is the preferred method for submitting materials to the editorial office of the journal, designed for the convenience of authors and editors.
The main tasks of the Journal:
- reflection of the latest achievements in Earth sciences and interdisciplinary fields;
- achieving a new qualitative level of the journal, meeting the requirements of the Higher Attestation Commission, international standards and selection criteria and inclusion in the information resources of Scopus, Web of Science;
- providing a platform for discussions, exchange of views on topical issues in the field of Earth sciences and related fields of knowledge.
