Anoxic basins organic matter geochemistry D. A. Bushnev
DOI: 10.19110/geov.2022.2.1
The paleo-anoxic events influence on the accumulation of organic matter in carbonaceous marine sediments is considered. Aryl carotenoids derivatives found in bitumoids of the Upper Jurassic oil shales of the Russian Plate, Domanik deposits of the Pechora Basin, and other sequences indicate the photic zone anoxia of paleobasin waters. Dissolved hydrogen sulfide interacts with lipids and carbohydrates of the original organic matter and forms a wide range of soluble and high-molecular sulfur compounds. The analysis of the pyrolysis products composition of Jurassic oil shale sulfur-rich kerogen indicates a significant proportion of sulfur bound sugars in structure, as well as the formation of polysulfur bound n-alkyl fragments. The Domanik deposits kerogen structure is rich in sulfur bound n-alkyl fragments, producing a lot of n-alkylthiophenes and benzothiophenes under pyrolysis.
Keywords: anoxia, diagenesis, natural vulcanization, biomarkers, kerogen.

Seismic investigation of the structural seismic anomaly zone of tectonic dislocation in the Kandalaksha-Dvina rift and Arkhangelsk horst suture zone I. M. Basakina, G. N. Antonovskaya, E. M. Ignatchik
DOI: 10.19110/geov.2022.2.2
The results of clarifying the deep Severodvinsk fault zone location are presented and its structure in the upper part of the section using shallow seismic survey by shear-wave reflection method and extensional reflected waves method using a system of multiple overlaps (CDP method) is considered. The site under study is located in the Kholmogorsky tectonic knot area (north of the EEP) and represents a zone of tectonic dislocation intersection. In the upper part of the section, a fracture zone was found accompanying this deep fault, in with water infiltration, discharge of reservoir gas fluids; karst was detected in carbonate rocks. This zone can be attributed to seismogenic, which implies a repetition of weak seismicity manifestation on the Arkhangelsk horst complicated by tectonic faults.
Keywords: Arkhangelsk horst, seismic anomaly, shallow seismic survey.

Mineralogical and geochemical properties of coals of the Mugun deposit (Irkutsk coal basin) N. R. Dzhumayan, V. I. Silaev, E. A. Vasiliev, A. F. Khazov, I. V. Smoleva, B. A. Makeev
DOI: 10.19110/geov.2022.2.3
For the first time, the results of complex mineralogical and geochemical studies of coals of the Mugun lignite deposit of Early-Middle Jurassic age have been obtained. The chemical, phase and microelement composition of coals and coal ash, thermal properties, Raman spectroscopy and isotopic composition of carbon matter have been studied. It has been established that peneplain, characterized by a high degree of laterite-hypergene alteration of rocks, served as a source of terrigenous material for Mugun coals. Many geological, mineralogical, geochemical and technological properties of the studied coals are correlated with the degree of lateritization of the terrigenous admixture.
Keywords: Mugun deposit, Irkutsk coal basin, brown coal, coal lithogeochemistry, mineral composition of coals.

Minerals of the atacamite group from ores at the bottom of the Аtlantic ocean I. G. Dobretsova, M. A. Yagovkina
DOI: 10.19110/geov.2022.2.4
The study of samples with minerals of the atacamite group from the ore fields of the Atlantic Ocean made it possible to reveal their genetic features and hydrothermal nature. The objects were observed with the help of underwater television directly on the ocean floor. The lifted samples were initially studied under binoculars aboard the R/V Professor Logachev. Due to their characteristic rich bluish-green color, atacamites were easily recognized among other minerals, and their diagnosis was further confirmed by the results of studying optical properties in transparent polished sections, under an electron microscope, and during X-ray diffraction analysis.
Keywords: Mid-Atlantic Ridge, atacamite, deep-sea polymetallic sulfides, hydrothermal solutions, underwater fumaroles.

From teaching experience. X. Regular, semi-regular and irregular plane partitions u. L. Voytekhovsky
DOI: 10.19110/geov.2022.2.5
The article deals with regular, semi-regular and irregular plane partitions, among the latter are partitions into equal polygons and arbitrary partitions with simple knots. It continues the author's supplementary lectures to the university textbook «Crystallography» by G. M. Popov and I. I. Shafranovsky, which was recommended to the students of geology of the St. Petersburg Mining University. The new topic is interesting because the first problem is solved elementary in the form of a Diophantine equation, the second is solved by algorithmic enumeration of variants, the third is related to the 18th Gilbert problem and is not exhausted yet, and the fourth shows the transition to the geometry of quasi-crystalline and amorphous structures. It gives examples of easily formulated but difficult to solve problems and encourages students to be scientifically creative in geometric crystallography and related disciplines (petrography, materials science). The presentation of the theory is illustrated with examples of plane partitions in urban interiors of St. Petersburg.
Keywords: regular, semi-regular and irregular plane partitions, partitions into equal polygons, Diophantus equation, enumeration algorithm, lattice systems in the plane.
